Additional Programs

We are extremely lucky at Apollo to have a wonderful library stacked full with an amazing range of picture story, fiction and non-fiction books for our students to choose from.

Literacy Support Programs

Apollo Parkways Primary School offers additional assistance to students experiencing difficulties in literacy learning.  A range of specialised programs which target reading acquisition are offered across the school.

Pegasus Program - Gifted & Talented Education

We are highly committed to the provision of programs to meet the needs of all students. We believe that the open ended nature of our classroom programs, where students can work at their own level, cater well for highly able students. In addition to classroom provision we have also developed a small-group withdrawal program - The Pegasus Program - to further support the education of highly capable and talented students. In a withdrawal program such as this, students of like ability can work together on tasks and activities beyond those that can be offered within the mainstream classroom.

1 to 1 ipad Program

Our Grade 5 and 6 students participate in the 1 to 1 iPad Program at Apollo Parkways PS. It is a BYOD program implemented in 2012. In a 1 to 1 learning environment each learner has a portable, networked, digital device that can connect each learner with their teacher and other learners or experts, with real world contexts for learning, multimedia resources, specifically selected iOS apps and online tools.

Inter-school Sports

For all children in Grades 5 and 6 the interschool sporting program is a regular part of their weekly physical education program. Apollo Parkways PS participates in the Diamond Valley Primary School Sports Association (DVPSSA) which operates both Summer and Winter sporting fixtures.  As a member of the DVPSSA the school also participates in Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming carnivals.

Camping Program

Apollo Parkways PS provides for all children, from Prep - Grade 6, to undertake a range of experiences and activities beyond the classroom as a part of the school’s camping program.
