LEARNING Support Programs

Apollo Parkways Primary School offers additional assistance to students experiencing difficulties in their learning.  A range of specialised programs are offered across the school.

Pegasus Program - Gifted & Talented Education

We are highly committed to the provision of programs to meet the needs of all students. We believe that the open ended nature of our classroom programs, where students can work at their own level, cater well for highly able students. In addition to classroom provision we have also developed a small-group withdrawal program - The Pegasus Program - to further support the education of highly capable and talented students. In a withdrawal program such as this, students of like ability can work together on tasks and activities beyond those that can be offered within the mainstream classroom.

1 to 1 ipad Program

Our Grade 5 and 6 students participate in a 1 to 1 iPad learning environment at Apollo Parkways PS. In our classrooms each learner bring with them from home a portable, networked iPad device. It can connect them with their teacher, other learners and experts, providing them with real world contexts for learning, multimedia resources, using specifically selected iOS apps and online tools. Real learning in a global community.

Inter-school Sports

For all children in Grade 5 and 6 the interschool sporting program is a regular part of their weekly physical education program. Apollo Parkways PS participates in the Diamond Valley Primary School Sports Association (DVPSSA) which operates both Summer and Winter sporting fixtures.  As a member of the DVPSSA the school also participates in Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming carnivals.
