Principal's Introduction

Apollo Parkways Primary School is in the outer northern suburb of Greensborough and has an enrolment of 790 students.

The school has excellent facilities and resources which provide opportunities for all students to experience a comprehensive curriculum in a caring, yet challenging atmosphere. Apollo Parkways has many state of the art facilities including: purpose-built arts building for the art and music programs, a well stocked library, a full-size basketball stadium for physical education & sport, and a community centre that supports the school's Out of School Hours Care and other school and community events. Whilst the emphasis is placed on literacy and numeracy, the curriculum at Apollo Parkways also features specialist programs in Performing Arts (Music), Visual Arts, Library, Physical Education & Sport and Italian. Additional assistance programs are provided to those students with special needs. The Pegasus Program, is offered to our highly capable gifted and talented students.

Our students have access to the latest technology in every room using Apple iPads, MacBook Air laptops, Apple TVs, short-throw interactive projectors or fixed screen televisions. These devices are supported with the state of the art networking infrastructure to enhance student learning. Our students in Grade 5 and 6 participate in the 1 to 1 iPad program. Each student has their own Apple iPad that they own and bring to school to use every day. Apollo Parkways is fully accredited as an eSmart School through the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

Our parent community is heavily involved in the school’s life and shares a commitment to its future development. The school has a very active and supportive School Council and members of our school community volunteer their time through our sub-committee meetings. There is a climate of mutual goodwill, trust and co-operation, based on a clear and unified purpose.

The staff at Apollo Parkways Primary School are enthusiastic, hardworking, always aiming for success for our students and this has resulted in Apollo Parkways being considered a good place to work. The school has attracted, developed and retained an excellent staff. The school’s policy towards personal development, helping people to reach their full potential, is considered not only in connection to the students but also towards enhancing the talents of the staff responsible for educating these students. We invite you to visit the school and experience this for yourself.
