Pegasus - Victorian Coding Challenge

On Tuesday the 31st of October (Halloween), nine grade 5 students participated in the 2023 Victorian Coding Challenge at St Oliver Plunkett Primary School. The day was held by the Mathematical Association of Victoria. We had 2 teams of students competing on the day. Over the course of the day, students competed in many challenging events. They started with maths and logic puzzles, then completed the main challenge containing 20 different Scratch coding puzzles, which were timed. The final challenges were barcode decoders and elevator efficiency puzzles on Scratch. Apollo came 4th out of 37 which was amazing! Special thanks to STEAM teacher Miss Anderson and to the amazing parents Mai, Haneeta and Libby who attended and assisted with events on the day.
